It was God's timing, God's idea, and God's will. Daniel, possibly unable
to sleep one night, stumbles upon the written promise. After 70 years,
God would indeed release Israel from her captivity (Jer. 29:10).
Now this is interesting, what would you do if you were Daniel? Declare a
"release is coming soon party" for all God’s people suffering in
Babylon? Would you pack your bags, get your shoes on, ready to move at a
moment’s notice?
Daniel, eventually, may have done all of the above. However, the first
thing Daniel did was to seek God for the fulfillment of the promise
(Daniel 9:3). Why? God had already said it would happen? Why not
just wait for the day of victory? Somehow, Daniel realized that even
when the Lord Himself initiates something, He chooses to partner with
people to bring that promise to pass.
What do you need to partner with God for today? Is it your future that
is jeopardized? Is it the future of those around you…that your heart
beats so passionately for? What should be our response? We must find the
written promises in His Word and fervently, effectually, ask Him again!
God told Daniel, "your words were heard and I came in response to
your words”. What words are you bringing to our Sovereign God that
He can respond to? Believe that the sovereignty of God will be
accomplished, and victory is coming….it’s only a matter of time.
"..The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results..." James 5:16 NLT
