“For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown
toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. For God is
not unjust to forget your labor of love.”
Hebrews 6:10

In 1979, on a cold Sunday morning in Southern California, my pastor at that time preached on the "Great White Throne Judgment". I remember crying through the entire message. Why? Because for the first time, I really grasped where rewards come from. My pastor painted an unforgettable scene of the "moment" that God rewards you for the time, money and sacrifices you made in His name. His verbiage was simple and his approach heartfelt as he illustrated coronation day, when God Himself would "pat you on the back". So simple, but so what I needed that cold Sunday morning.

My sacrifices for my crumbling marriage seemed futile. Time invested in ministry in my local church seemed forgotten. Love given to others seemed to be overlooked and my fragile heart was overwhelmed that morning. It has been said that Teaching will feed you and change you, but when a truth becomes Revelation, you will change the way you live. That morning, my concepts and understanding did change and consequently the way I lived changed as well. I understood clearly that man can honor you, man can thank you, and man can applaud you; however, God's moment of rewards are reserved for the perfect moment in time – Eternity - the perfect place, His Royal Throne Room.

For if your company were to give you a reward, would you rather your co-worker purchase you something to be given to you in her office or would you rather the CEO select, purchase and present your reward to you on the evening of the company's annual meeting?  I can only assume that the CEO has more resources and more authority than your co-worker. Are you grasping the picture I am painting for you? So many times we seek rewards on this earth. We find ourselves frustrated, feeling forgotten, or even worse, contemplating viewing our sacrifices as "wasted". However, truth demands our attention. Truth opposes the delusions of our heart in the dark moments of our despondent pondering. God is the One who is not unjust! God is the One who rewards! God is the One who remembers every sacrifice made in His Name, every moment invested in His cause, and most importantly our sincere desire to increase the Kingdom of His Son. So, savor the blessings of the gratitude of others, but steady your gaze on the prize - the "coronation moment" when He observes all the deeds accomplished in His name and we realize NOTHING is ever wasted, NOTHING is overlooked…ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is forgotten that was given in His name!
