We get an enormous amount of mileage out of the word love. We love our cars, our new pants, our families; we love tacos and we love the Lord. What an interesting word love has become for us.

Song of Solomon gives a clear definition of the love we should have for the Lord. The author introduces us to Ahava Love. What is Ahava? When we say we "Ahava the Lord" it means “I would rather be here with Christ in this moment than anywhere else in the world”.

Sometimes where He chooses to be in the moment is hard for us to accept. Our "perfect" moment would certainly take us somewhere else for the day. However, if we Ahava Him, then we find that as long as He and His will are there, it is the perfect place for us. So we trust, surrender and submit to His sovereignty and commit to delight in His ways.

These are the things we do for Love...

"Love is as strong as beath...many waters can not quench love, neither can rivers drown it."
-As spoken by Shulamite to king Solomon
