Have you ever presented someone a gift that was so amazing it changed their countenance, their day and their perspective on life? What kind of gift could cause such a reaction? A brand new home, the winning ticket to the lottery, or more importantly an outstanding debt completely paid-in-full? To the right person, all the above could not only change them, but change their future.

As Christ's followers, we have a gift that far exceeds any of these. It is simply the gift of humanity. It is the honest unashamed recognition of our own weaknesses and failures. To the person who is fighting the oppression of guilt, failure comes as an opportunist to paralyze them from their God-ordained future. We come with the mandate of Christ upon our lives to set the oppressed free. How do we do that? By sharing our humanity as a gift to the one who has believed the lie that says, "you can never move beyond your failure". Try it this week, share your weaknesses and failures with someone, watch God at work as the smile returns, the pressure is lifted and the feelings that once paralyzed must leave. All because you gave...

the simple gift of humanity.

"He has sent me...that the oppressed will be set free."

Luke 4:18 NLT
