Fear may not have been in Joshua’s vocabulary, but obviously God could see it in his eyes and read it on his heart—the kind of fear that is experienced whenever you are facing a task that is beyond your ability. However, with the assignment came a compelling command from God. One command from God makes all the difference because when God commands, He also gives us the power to fulfill the task. In this New Year, we will surely find ourselves attempting tasks that may look like a cake-walk to someone else. Yet, to us, they seem beyond our capacity. Living in a real world, facing the exhilaration of life’s challenges coupled with the routine of life, has made me a firm believer in one unchanging principle. This principle is that life just might be the greatest, most perilous and riskiest assignment we will ever receive. Still, the promise comes to each of us...‘So will I be with you.’ Wherever you are today, modern day Joshua, whatever you are attempting for His Kingdom and His cause, He commands you…“Be strong and be courageous...So will I be with you!” “Be strong, Joshua...be courageous for as I was with Moses, so...will I be with you.” - Joshua 1 NKJV
