"And you will know the truth, and the truth (that you know) will set you free."
Have you ever been completely convinced, but completely wrong? Jacob did not carefully examine the false evidence of Joseph’s bloody, torn coat and was completely convinced that his beloved son was dead. Yet, this calculated excuse to give up was completely wrong as Joseph was alive and moving directly toward the right hand of the Egyptian Pharaoh. One can only imagine the defining moment many years later, when truth walked in the door as a very much alive Egyptian ruler by the name of Joseph, son of Jacob! Often, we are completely convinced-but completely wrong-when we misinterpret our circumstances as symbols of defeat and the death of our dreams. False evidence appearing real may bear resemblance to thoughts such as these: …You will always be alone Truth is knocking at your heart’s door, so let the lies be exposed… and let the Truth walk in!
"Beyond a doubt, truth bears the same relation to falsehood as light to darkness." |
